What qualities do you think most useful to what you call the transitional ego?
There's trust, forbearance, freedom from worry, detachment, compassion....an endless list. But let's start with trust and forbearance for now.
Why those two in particular?
They just seem the most pertinent to me at the moment. The mix of qualities keeps changing, otherwise one could get stuck in a particular groove.
Sounds like a spiritual version of cross-training.
Exactly.
So what are you trusting in?
The trust is that I am not what I think I am, that the reality of being is beyond ego-mind's grasp, and that higher influences can both instill and quicken the certainty of our true state in us all.
And what of forbearance?
It's like putting up with, bearing the unending deluge of ego-mind's machine that produces a constant stream of thoughts and feelings. Imagine this stream is like a waterfall and we're sitting under it. Or, better yet, imagine standing in a river's swift current without being pulled downstream.
Or without going over the waterfall!
