So, if the goal or point of existence is to awaken, are we just missing the boat the rest of the time spent before that event?
If awakening is the whole purpose of creation then it’s a process always in play, not even requiring our awareness of it. Even in the most humdrum existence an underlying process would be inching its way onward through whatever layers are encasing our true consciousness.
In a way, we’re all doing time.
Maybe so, but it’s not a waste of time if the awakening urge is never absent.
Meaning we’re all involved in it no matter what.
Right, even if we think conscious experiencing of it is the preferred mode. In the meantime we can either pass the time, bide our time or kill time.
You mean there’s a difference?
Well, literally killing time would mean the whittling away of our conditioned mind that pretty much defines our sense of time. Biding our time would be somewhat less active, but still angling for a breakthrough.
And passing time?
Probably just prolonging our jail time.
So how we handle our time makes it a medicine or a poison.
Finally the only cure is acknowledging spirit’s primacy and priority.
