I get from our conversations that we can awaken, but that there's a catch.
Well, the flip side is that ego-mind can never awaken, but the core self of us can and does.
So what's the relation between these two aspects of ourselves?
The awakening-self is the driving force, the fuel that propels ego-mind through its journeys. The point being that this core self, no matter how encased, smothered, encumbered, demeaned, ignored, forgotten, no matter what, it continues providing the urge to awaken. It can be distorted, aggrandized or seemingly hijacked by an ego-mind deluded that it has become spiritual and the like.
So then what's left of its influence?
It carries an intention with the motive power to attract the Beloved, to recognize the truth of Real Self. And it's an influence that carries on no matter what, whereas the rest of our outer show passes away. What more of the former can we ask for, and how much more of the latter show do we need?
