re-ignition

Remembrance (see last post) can re-ignite our connection to the Oneness State.

More of what it is not: it is not distracting; it is our everyday state that is distracted........... It is not interfering; it is our usual awareness that interferes............. It is not a separate thought; it is of the One Thought (or Thoughtless) State where awareness does not require jumping from one thought to another.

But the main thing about remembrance is this: It is our attraction to the Beloved One within and unites our lives with the gravitational pull of this attraction.

what it is not

Remembrance is the spiritual practice of re-collecting our living connection to our source: the Oneness State, the Beloved One, God As All. This becomes a link or thoroughfare between our mind and heart. It can be a divine name or image, it can be a sense of direct presence, it can take many forms, it can take no forms.

It can be spontaneous, it can be structured, it is endless in nature............ Each spiritual tradition practices some form of remembrance using different terms and descriptions.

What it is not: remembrance is not a  memory of the past because thought alone cannot deal with the immediacy of the moment. Actually it is not a thought at all because then it would interfere and conflict with other thoughts. As an awareness without thought it doesn't displace or replace any part of our experiences. This is real non-interference, real harmony. Otherwise our attention would be split, fragmented, and would just wind up stumbling over itself.

Hopefully this gives a small taste of the texture of remembrance.....and how it might encompass and unify all our passing moments.

key to the treasure

Remembrance is one of the great spiritual keys; remembrance of Self, of the Beloved One. It opens doors and invites new insights and new feelings. Part of the natural cycle of remembrance is forgetfulness, indifference, doubt, etc......in other words these are natural reactions by those parts of us that are in fact not so natural.

And what often follows these kinds of reactions is a sense of being dead-ended or of being derailed. Eventually another part of the cycle takes over and we're back on track.Sometimes the "recovery time" can be shortened by the simple awareness that it is a cycle....where awareness of indifference can even be a form of remembrance.

It is like a seesaw of effort and grace, with the effort part varying whereas the Awakening Grace part is invariably available. (Note: there is no end to the subject of remembrance nor to ways of expressing it.....more will follow in future posts.)

guidance as a gravity system

Being drawn to the Oneness of the Beloved: the pull, the gravity of this attraction is itself the most pervasive form of guidance.

Through this guidance the superstructure of our falseness is dismantled.....How? Mainly by proximity to the silent flame of Living Truth that melts the ice of ignorance. From this can spring inspiration and a heart-knowing about where and how to proceed in our lives.

The "ice age" of ignorance, of darkness is eliminated according to the degree of our surrenderance. Surrendering what?----our self-imposed limits, our resistance to the pull of Awakening Truth.

Remembrance of the Beloved One in itself provides guidance. The act of remembrance activates that core part of ourselves that is drawn toward awakening. Simply being in that inner place becomes the guidance that leads to the Real------what more can we ask for?

Then the details and preferences of our lives (about what to do next, where to go next) matter less and just opening up the heart matters more.

What to do?.....just sense and follow the pull of the urge to awaken.
......just feel gratitude: all of my gratitude Lord, that I am drawn to the threshold of your garden.
