So you’re saying that to realize yourself as Self takes a lot more that just affirming that you are That…
Affirming is useful, but it’s love’s fire that burns away our baggage, our false images of who we think we are; a force of love that we can’t fabricate but that we can fall prey to through glimpses into our true nature.
And what would follow then is a sense of freedom from mind’s limitations.
Sure, but not just from a small bundle of these limitations, rather freedom from the whole thing. A freedom arrived at through a kind of servitude to one thing: a one-pointed focus on the One; the lover’s longing to more and more approach the Beloved as one’s Real Self.
OK, back to what you referred to as ‘falling prey to glimpses.'
That's another way of saying to be wholehearted, to be free of from the demands and expectations of results. Another way to put it is the willingness to sacrifice our image of our self. Then we have a chance to sense we’re on track, exactly where we need to be at this moment.
And that’s enough?
It's more than a good start. That’s a taste of real freedom and fulfillment, a taste of the fruits of the Beloved’s garden.
