It’s said that the spiritual journey begins when one realizes there is no real journey to undertake.
To some that may be spirituality in a nutshell. But remember, the spiritual enterprise really amounts to courting disaster.
What do you mean by disaster?
It’s inviting the elimination of the ego-mind, no trivial matter, a matter more drastic than we can imagine.
And what helps us weather such a shock?
It’s anybody’s guess, but I would suggest that only love and love’s logic could sustain one to undergo this operation.
Even though the one undergoing the operation doesn't really survive?
If we really get it that, in the long run our separate identity doesn't survive, who would be rash enough to undertake such madness? Doesn't that suggest that the motivating force comes from beyond who we think we are?
