What's this awakening-self you refer to?
It's that in us that responds to the urge to awaken.
And is it something distinct from our ego-mind?
At its core, yes, because ego-mind never has a genuine interest in, or even real comprehension of, awakening. And why would it ever want to give up control, to bankrupt itself?
So this awakening-self is in the business of remembering our Real Self?
In a total, all-inculsive way.
But isn't it still a part of ego-mind? I don't see how you can get around that.
It's actually a new center of operation. If it were just another compartment of ego-mind, nothing of consequence would come of it.
How can we know the difference?
That's the big question, each one's personal koan or conundrum. It requires the courage to find out and the intuitive wisdom to welcome whatever the outcome.
