The essence of what we really are, in the process of waking up to itself, is distinct from our ego-mind. You could call this essence the Real Ego.
If we're waking up to deeper sense of ego, or to a 'higher' ego, aren't we still one among many ego's?
Ultimately, or actually, there's only one Real Ego dreaming that it is all these many egos and seeking to awaken to Itself through them.
So the impulse or motivation to awaken may come through us but not from us?
From beyond ego-mind's boundaries. From Unconscious Self awakening to Conscious Self.
Two Selves and we're in-between?
The whole process of awakening is in-between these two states of One Self. All the promptings, urges, intuitions, recognitions, revelations, and illuminations are in-between what seem to be two poles, like two ends of one stick.
It's bending to who we think we are, shattering to who we seem to be, and it's also the dawning of inner silence in the Beloved's garden.
