It seems ego-mind has pulled off the perfect crime,
For even our memory of this act has been wiped clean.
Has ego-mind succeeded in the ultimate identity theft,
As we keep assuming we are who we appear to be?
Yet occassionaly some clues start to surface,
Vague recollections of what our true nature might be.
And as awakening's urge pushes us to mind's edge,
Are we not freer to sense Self's presence?
