Fixation on spiritual progress can be a sign of trouble,
Breeding a frustration that keeps ego-mind in charge.
But all comparisons fade as our awakening-self has its way,
For what's left but spontaneous remembrance of the Beloved?
Then advancement is forgotten, mind remains calm,
As a secret inner knowing ever grows.
Then heart-mind is aware an inner work is getting done,
And that awakening's dawning is never-ending.
