When money tightens more attention is paid to abuse of funds. More fraud, kickbacks, and trade-offs come to light.

What about misuse that really counts? What about the inner reserves storing core energy that animates our lives? Our psyche often misplaces the keys to this treasure. Like sleeping stewards we then make it freely available to all comers.

Sensing the spoils they eagerly swarm about. It's theft, not charity. Each 'inner I' (see ego-mind) starts making claims for its own projects....politics at its worse. When life feels hectic it's likely such a feeding frenzy is going on.

How many under the table payoffs get transacted behind our back? Seems the sheer hustle and bustle would alert us. Such is our sleep state and such the price paid.

But with some waking up, accountability starts up. Our creative energies get re-routed, plans get restructured. A new deal is struck.

Whatever affords more accord with awakening's way is fast-tracked. Whatever doesn't is revamped, recycled, or left to rust.

We steer through our days like a small ship in a fog-bank. Lights flashing and foghorn blasting to avoid collision. All our energies are required just to stay safe and sound. 

Vision clears when fog briefly lifts only to return, re-enveloping us. Why such doggedness? Our storehouse of impressions keeps producing this shadow-fog. It's attached to us just as we're attached to it: the ultimate co-dependency.

With such limitations how can we dare pursue the Limitless? How to contain the uncontainable within a ship's confines? Yet sometime the limitless pursues us, even while immersed in ourselves. 

Like an ocean liner, the Unlimited comes looming through the fog without warning, bearing down and knocking our ship asunder. This is the moment to seize, to jump overboard without hesitation, to abandon ship without reservation.

Awakening's impact has its own timing and schedule yet is unpredictable. To ego-mind it's a catastrophe, not even a chance for a distress signal.

But a steady mind sees only opportunity. A ready heart sees only a gift's arrival.

When even a small number of people heed awakening's call the whole collective is reshaped.

But when will those ripples in the collective mind be enough to matter?

They're always enough to matter.

You know what I mean...

Yes, when will the mind-set and heart-set of humanity be altered enough for obvious social change?

Exactly.

Actually awakening is its own goal and not even a goal at that.

Meaning?

Meaning it has its own measure and priority. Social change isn't the goal yet best comes about as collective mind stops constantly re-collecting its history.

But mustn't everyone awaken together?

Likely the critical mass of people experiencing enough inner change is less than we imagine. There's also a question of degree.

How will others know awakening is happening then?

Perhaps some won't but may find nothing else seems to work.

not this, not that

Awakening is not what we think it or want it to be. It's not an idea, much less our idea. Yearning or longing is the very voice of awakening's urge in us reflecting its longing to awaken in and through us.

Such longing combines desperation that can't spare a moment's delay and such patience that time is no object. It portends the end time of multi-level desires we're constantly marketing.

This promotes effacement: ego-mind is 'dis-enforced,' no longer 're-enforced.' The paths of knowledge and longing meet; friends of wisdom become ardent lovers of Truth. 

Then ego-mind is overwhelmed, its trains of thought brought to near standstill. Only pure awareness is left to surface. And what is that, who can say? 

What it's not has been consumed by love's fire. Left is only awakening light's remaining.
