upgrading? no problem

Available to each of us in our spiritual trekking is a kind of inbuilt map or "program" even if we are only aware of the next step in front of us....Each unique program is designed to lead us from one set of personal dilemmas to another, from one life-riddle to another. Each is a kind of super-koan compressing all the contradictions that we need to work out into situations that tend to repeat themselves over and over.

Lucky for us, our personal programs are very adaptable and when we reach their limits upgrades become available as needed.

Actually there is no end to the supply of upgrades, so no need to worry. Eventually all riddles can become unraveled. The source of upgrades, Unlimited Mind, becomes more and more approachable as the heart abandons its limits in its reckless pursuit of the Beloved One.

key to the treasure

Remembrance is one of the great spiritual keys; remembrance of Self, of the Beloved One. It opens doors and invites new insights and new feelings. Part of the natural cycle of remembrance is forgetfulness, indifference, doubt, etc......in other words these are natural reactions by those parts of us that are in fact not so natural.

And what often follows these kinds of reactions is a sense of being dead-ended or of being derailed. Eventually another part of the cycle takes over and we're back on track.Sometimes the "recovery time" can be shortened by the simple awareness that it is a cycle....where awareness of indifference can even be a form of remembrance.

It is like a seesaw of effort and grace, with the effort part varying whereas the Awakening Grace part is invariably available. (Note: there is no end to the subject of remembrance nor to ways of expressing it.....more will follow in future posts.)

x-tra, read all about it

This is a departure from the "usual " fare in order to acknowledge a review of Awakening sense that is both interesting and useful. The review link is entered on a separate page (see THIS BLOG RE-VIEWED in the sidebar) followed by more comments that I have responded with. This may be of interest to you as it brings up some good points about the purposes and presentation of this site. You can also access the review here at theweblogreview.

spiritual consumption

It seems that spiritual "consumerism" is inevitable when our society is exposed to a large dose of truth. We have the tendency to add-on more; anything new becomes a fad, a style, and a product to be owned. Although a superficial form of "digesting," still something is being absorbed.

But spiritual "foods" may be more potent than originally suspected; rather than us consuming them, they may wind up consuming us.....so maybe best to read the fine print in those warning labels.

But there could be an upside to these dire implications.Consider what a "spiritual threat" might target: not the true but the treacherous in us. If the unneeded clutter in our minds and hearts is consumed, what a relief!

Truth and Beauty are only hazardous to the phony parts of our inventories. Fortunately our Awakening Oneness makes available an ever-fresh supply; mega-doses of Truth, and mega-doses of Mercy to help the assimilating of it.

The table is being spread with a new food and a new wine. So let us begin forgetting whatever might have been consuming us.......let us begin to remember what is possible......let us all drink up and feast well.
